​Language diversity exists as a dynamic and ever-evolving system, based on cultural and educational contexts. This was touched upon during a Professorial Lecture organised by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD.

The lecture titled 'The Ecology of Language in Brunei: Diversity, Interplay and Equity' was delivered by Professor Doctor Noor Azam bin Orang Kaya Maha Bijaya Haji Othman. The lecture was part of UBD's 40th anniversary celebration. Among those present were Doctor Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD and Dayang Doctor Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
